Rumors surrounding Apple’s upcoming iPad and iPad mini have intensified with a recent software leak revealing key specifications. Initially, the iPad (A16) was slated for release earlier this year, but now anticipates a spring 2027 launch, while the iPad mini (A17 Pro) is likely to arrive this fall.
iPad Base Model to Receive A19 Chip
Contrary to previous speculation, the base iPad is now expected to feature an A19 processor, previously utilized in the iPhone 17, alongside the C1X modem and N1 networking chip. Alongside the chip, the device will also include 8GB of RAM and Apple Intelligence support.

iPad Mini Details: A20 Pro Chip and Camera Shift
Furthermore, the iPad mini 8 may incorporate the A20 Pro chip, found in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. Leaked images suggest a shift in the front-facing camera to the long side of the display, accompanied by a small groove for a speaker. The tablet is also anticipated to boast a new vibration-based speaker and improved water resistance.

Display Upgrade and Refresh Rate Concerns
The most significant upgrade is expected to be the transition to an OLED display, potentially slightly larger than previous models, though it will maintain a 60Hz refresh rate. Despite these advancements, some users on Reddit have expressed concerns regarding the display's refresh rate.
