Samsung recently unveiled its latest foldable phones and smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch 9 and the more rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. While the Ultra 2 caters to serious athletes with its IP69K rating and 10 ATM water resistance, the Watch 9 is geared towards everyday users seeking a seamless smartphone companion.

Key Features and Design

The Galaxy Watch 9 is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, boasting bright Super AMOLED displays reaching up to 3,000 nits of brightness and featuring scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The 44mm model has a 1.47-inch display (480 x 438 pixels), while the 40mm model has a 1.37-inch display (438 x 438 pixels).

Comfort and Fit

I've been wanting to try a Samsung smartwatch for a while, having previously tested flagship models from Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, and Motorola during running sessions. The Galaxy Watch 9 fits my small wrist exceptionally well – the 40mm version with the S/M Sport Band even has extra strap length remaining. The Sport Band is durable, flexible, and breathable, and easily attaches and detaches with buttons on the bottom of the watch face. At 31.5 grams without the strap, it’s surprisingly comfortable to wear.
