Troubleshooting DIGI Coverage Issues: Five Simple Steps
When DIGI coverage starts to fail, the frustrating part isn’t just losing data or a dropped call. It’s often not knowing the source of the problem.
Identifying the Root Cause
It might seem like the operator has an outage, but the issue could be with your home WiFi, mobile settings, or the available coverage in your area.
Engineer Antonio Cañavate suggests five simple adjustments to try and recover a connection if you’re experiencing DIGI coverage issues on your mobile. Before applying these, he recommends basic checks – changing the APN or forcing another network is pointless if the router is failing or there’s a widespread service outage.
First, determine which connection is failing. Test internet speed by connecting a computer to the DIGI router via Ethernet cable. If the wired connection works correctly, the problem likely lies with the wireless signal in your home.
Next, check Down Detector to see if other customers are reporting similar incidents simultaneously. A sudden surge in reports could indicate the issue isn’t with your mobile and you’re simply waiting for DIGI to restore service.
Also, consult AntenasMóviles.es to see which antennas are nearby. Since DIGI uses coverage linked to the Movistar network, distance to that infrastructure can explain weak signals.

Five Potential Solutions
Try activating airplane mode for 10-20 seconds. Deactivating it forces the mobile to re-register and search for a new antenna.
Restarting the phone
can close long-running processes and reload the network management system.Disable automatic operator selection and manually choose Movistar within the network settings.
If using mobile data, ensure the APN is set to ‘Digi’ with ‘internet.digimobil.es’ as the APN. Set authentication to PAP and the type to default/supl.
Temporarily disable 5G and use 4G, as a weak 5G signal can cause frequent network changes and an unstable experience. A stable 4G connection may perform better in daily use.
These solutions can correct registration errors or incorrect configurations, but they also help when 5G is unstable. However, they cannot create coverage where the signal is weak. If the problem persists after these steps, switching operators may be the only effective solution. The best network isn’t the one promising the fastest speeds on paper, but the one that functions reliably in the places you actually use your mobile.
